Postcard to Esther

This postcard was found in the Station Stamp Shop on Coatsworth Road. It came from the front line in France in the First World War and was addressed to a Miss Esther Lawson of Durham, from Jack. Amazingly we came across it on the 14th July 2016, 101 years to the day that it was written. The front (see below) is a beautifully embroidered picture which Stamp Shop owner, Eric, reliably informed us that these were made by Belgian women for the men fighting the war on the Western Front.
